A visit back to Rexburg

Ever since I got home in December from Fall semester at BYU-I, I wanted to go back and visit friends. The question was how I would get there. My dad was driving back to Idaho to finish the house that he was building, so I drove with him, and flew back home after the trip was over. The drive went by pretty fast, probably because I slept a lot of the way haha. I got into Rexburg Idaho around 8:30pm, and started the 10 day trip I had anticipated for weeks. My 3 friends Scott, Tyler, and Dan were nice enough to let me crash at their apartment, and trust me, there was hardly ever a dull moment.

The night I got there, at around midnight, some friends came over to see me. One thing I loved about being at college, is that everyone was so spontaneous, unlike my life at home. We were all just hanging out at the apartment, and decided to go to Denny's! There isn't a Denny's in Rexburg, but there is one in Idaho Falls, which is about 30 minutes away. So we all got in Heidi's car and went to Denny's, even though it was curfew haha. I don't think we ended up getting home until about 3:30am, but it was fun! Car rides are always a blast, no matter where we go, and of course we had to take pictures. Like my sister Jenni says, I document everything with pictures. :)

Kelsey and I at the park.

Kelsey and I sledding at the dorms. (AKA the girl I made out with last semester that everyone seems to have heard about. Just thought I would clear that up.)

When I planned my trip, I knew I was going to be there during Valentines Day. It wasn't what I had expected, but it was really nice and very low key. Scott and I didn't have any big plans, so we invited Camille and Kalee over for the evening. (Sorry everyone, no juicy stories to tell...nothing happened even though it was Valentines Day) We made a great dinner together, had a little sparkling cider, and had chocolate dipped strawberries for dinner. Afterwards we put on some music and just talked and hung out.

Heidi was busy a lot, but we were able to do a few things together while I was there. One day she picked me up, we grabbed something to eat, went to a candy shop for some sweets, and then went to the movies. We had a really good time. And of course, we took pictures in the car!!! Haha it's kind of a tradition. :)

Camille is from Texas...can't you tell? This was one of the last days I was there, and we were just messing around, and decided to take some pictures. I think we took almost 50, but these are the best ones.

When I decided to go back to Rexburg, I had this idea of how I thought it would be. All I can say, is that it wasn't what I thought. I had a great time, but at the same time, I guess you could say that it was disappointing. I really learned who my real friends are. I learned that if you care about someone, and if you are someones friend, you make time for them. I didn't expect my friends to drop their lives, and I understand they can get busy with school, but if you care, then you will make time for your friend. I learned from a girl last semester, that you are never too busy for your friends, and I agree with that. A true friend, is someone that is there for you when it's convenient for them, but also when it's NOT convenient for them. Even though my trip didn't go as I had planned, I still think that it was worth every minute. I was able to strengthen relationships that will last, and I was able to end relationships that were never good for me in the first place.
